Commercial Restoration FAQs

This is one of the most common restoration FAQs we hear. The answer is no! It is your choice which restoration company you use. Even if it is implied by your insurance adjuster, you get final say which company you want to restore your property to pre-damage state.

It depends. After we assess the damage, we can give you an accurate estimate of the cleanup time. The cleanup could take from just a few hours to several weeks. Some factors that can impact the length of restoration include:

  • The type of damage you’ve suffered
  • The size of your property
  • The number of furnishings inside
  • Any local infrastructure issues, such as downed power lines after a storm

The cost of water damage restoration varies based on the type of water, the duration of saturation, if mold is present and the extent of the damage. For other types, including smoke/fire, bio-hazard/crime scene/trauma, it’s based on the extent of damage and materials affected. We give you a more specific estimate after we assess the property.

We cannot tell you whether to file a claim or not. You’ll need to evaluate how the claim will affect your premiums before deciding to file. It’s important to talk to your insurance company so you understand how they handle claims on your policy.

Yes! At Amerestore, we work with all adjusters and insurance providers. Our company will work closely with your insurance provider to ensure you get the settlement you need and repair work done as quickly as possible.

We use Xactimate(R) Estimating software for both fire and water damage claims as well as Drytrack software to determine loss scope accurately. Because we use this insurance-industry software and our team has I.I.C.R.C. industry training, it’s easy for insurance companies to process the paperwork. We speak their language, in other words, which reduces confusion and any “back and forth.”

Water Damage Restoration FAQs

As a matter of fact, no. Your insurance company prefers you call a commercial restoration company to begin water cleanup and fix your water damage as quickly as possible. If possible, turn off any water valves you can access.

Call a plumber to fix the leak, if applicable, but the faster our crews arrive, the more destruction we can help prevent to your business or property. You’ll still want to call your insurance company, but you shouldn’t wait for an adjuster to arrive before beginning any kind of water damage restoration. If you plan to file a claim, they’ll need an assessment of the damage and restoration estimate anyway. Calling us speeds up the process.

To start, we clean up all standing water still present in the property. Next, we assess the water damage. We determine what can be salvaged and what needs to be disposed of, then make sure the area is dried and dehumidified.

Staying ahead of any potential mold growth is something we prioritize with water damage restoration. We train our technicians to restore property before replacing it, if possible. Amerestore is not a construction company that got into restoration. We are foremost a mitigation company, then a repair company.

Absolutely. Some signs of hidden house flood water damage include:

  • Peeling paint and wallpaper
  • Visible mold
  • Moisture and condensation
  • Musty odors
  • Increase of insect or pest activity

Moisture or dampness in your carpet or other floorings. Many times people have water in a crawl space and are unaware.

After the damage is mitigated, repairs may be necessary. We are a full-service contractor and can make any repairs for you, leaving your business in excellent condition when we leave.

Fire & Smoke Restoration FAQs

Amerestore provides comprehensive fire damage recovery services. This includes cleaning and removing soot and smoke damage, making structural repairs, and cleaning and protecting your company’s belongings. Many fire damages are also accompanied by losses due to water and chemicals from firefighting efforts, and we provide water damage cleanup, drying, and restoration services.

We strongly advise you to avoid re-entering your business following a fire. Beyond the concerns of smoke inhalation, fire and smoke weaken structures substantially, risking collapse.

After a fire, your property is left exposed and vulnerable to theft and additional damage. We board up windows and doors and secure any openings to protect your business, merchandise, and possessions from theft and looting. We provide 24/7 board-up services to protect your property after a fire and throughout the restoration process.

Yes! Once we have removed all soot from the walls, carpets, furniture, and any other damaged contents of your property or business, our fire restoration team deodorizes your business to permanently remove the smell of smoke.

Mold Restoration FAQs

Mold can grow immediately after water damage, but it usually takes anywhere from 24-48 hours to establish itself.

Mold appears in dark gray, green, or even black blotches or spots on surfaces. It’s often raised and textured, and accompanied by a mildew-like odor.

Mold remediation is the process used to thoroughly remove mold, eliminate odors, sanitize the area, and restore healthy air quality to your business or home.

It all depends on the size of the mold infestation and its location within your business. Mold removal estimates are given on a case-by-case basis, so it’s difficult to give a time frame. It’s also a bit of a misnomer to say “remove mold completely.”

Mold is a naturally-occurring organism, there are over 100,000 types and some is always present in trace amounts. We remove mold from your home, commercial property or business to restore it to pre-damage conditions or what’s considered “healthy.” Because of the complexity of types of mold, there’s actually no recognized “safe level” of mold.

Keep in mind though, bleach does not remove mold. It simply removes the color from the mold you can see. It’s important to remove it at the root. We attack the mold from all angles and remove it discreetly.

Storm & Hurricane Restoration FAQs

Contact a storm damage restoration company immediately. Restoration companies get multiple calls from businesses impacted by severe storms and natural disasters, so it’s important to get on their list as quickly as possible. By contacting a water damage restoration company immediately, the remediation process begins right away and your business is one step closer to being safely functional again.

Insurance companies advise business owners to contact water damage restoration companies first after a hurricane hits the property. Because water causes more damage the longer it sits, the sooner our water damage restoration specialists begin the cleanup process the more we can contain it and prevent mold.

From roof damage to flooding, a hurricane can affect every part of your business, even the inside. A full inspection of your property after a hurricane blows through is probably the best and safest way to itemize any and all damage.

Because mold thrives in moist environments, any wet or humid place is a perfect place for mold spores to grow. If you ignore the moisture, mold can begin to grow within 24-48 hours. It’s very important to take immediate action when you experience flood damage of any type!
